Portland, Ore., Feb. 10, 2020 – The Portland International Auto Show (PIAS) bows on its new dates, Feb. 20 – 23, 2020, at the Oregon Convention Center showcasing the newest automobiles from the global carmakers, along with features that celebrate the Oregon lifestyle. Featuring over 600 vehicles from 35 manufacturers, the show also continues its tradition offering something for every interest to educate, entertain and amaze. For the fifth year, Pamplin Media Group is the presenting sponsor of this year’s show.

Sneak Peek Charity Preview Party

The celebration kicks off with what has become the must-attend charity event of the season: the Sneak Peek Charity Preview Party, Wed., Feb. 19, 6:30 – 9:30 pm. With a chance to view the show before it opens to the public, Sneak Peek is an annual tradition, with nearly all proceeds going to eight local charities. As a bonus, each ticket holder will be entered into a new-car giveaway for a 2020 Audi Q3 Quattro SUV, courtesy of Audi Beaverton, the evening’s sponsor. Tickets can be purchased at the show website, oregonautoshow.com, or from the charity beneficiaries that are listed on the web site.

The Garage

Now one of the show’s most popular features, The Garage returns thanks to sponsor Perlo Construction. During the run of the show, The Garage, located on the main show floor, will feature two live car builds over the four days of the show. Watch as experts from companies like Pro-Tek Automotive, AR Service, PDX Wraps, Stereo King, and WheelKraft and Pure Addiction Diesel Performance contribute to the build of a 2020 BMW 340 and a 2020 Jeep Gladiator.

Tech Center

This interactive learning center will feature technology from Hyundai, Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, and Chevrolet with experts on hand to demonstrate the technologies and apps in vehicles. Also, the Columbia-Willamette Clean Cities Coalition will educate on EVs and the Green Highways initiative, along with a tech simulator, and OReGo will demonstrate an app that monitors a vehicle’s on-road usage and driving habits.

Electric Avenue

Forth, an organization that’s advancing electric, smart and shared mobility will answer EV questions in Electric Avenue in partnership with PGE, Pacific Power and Clark Public Utilities. Among the topics explored by on site experts:
• Innovations in EV charging stations
• Use of clean energy for EV charging
• Variety of EVs currently available
• New EV range reality
• Savings and incentives
• Charting your trip with the Chargeway Beacon

EV Showcase sponsored by the Oregon Electric Vehicle Association (OEVA)

Located in the Tech Center, the EV Showcase features 20 EVs from manufacturers like Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, Audi, Kia, Chevrolet, Volvo, Volkswagen and others. OEVA will staff the exhibit, with EV owners and experts available to answer questions about the benefits of ownership and specific models on display.

Test Drives and new all-EV Test Drive

The best way to evaluate that next car buy is by driving it, and there will be plenty of opportunity to do that at the auto show. More than 45 different models will be available to drive, including EVs, CUVs, SUVs and sedans. Participating OEMs include Honda, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan and the amazing line up from Ford that includes the Raptor Ford. New this year, Forth is hosting an all-EV Electric Drive Test Drive. Test Drives will be staged around the Oregon Convention Center during the show’s run.

Luxury Lanes

It’s 95,000 square feet of luxury and adrenalin. Luxury Lanes are the combination of the Luxury Loft and the Exotics, and features some of the most anticipated vehicles of the PIAS, including Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Mercedes, Porsche and Volvo. The addition of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, McLaren Ferrari and Maserati, plus some one-of-a-kind exotics from personal collections makes this a must-see exhibit.

Motorcycle Pavilion

Get your motor running in the Motorcycle Pavilion, featuring major brands for comparison shopping including: BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Yamaha, and Polaris. The Pavilion will also feature the debut of two all-electric bikes, the Live Wire and the Zero.

Guess This Mess

An auto show tradition, the Schnitzer Steel-sponsored contest gives contestants a chance to win a 55’ big screen TV by guessing the year, make, model and mileage of the crushed and bailed vehicle in the Schnitzer Steel exhibit. You can also learn how Schnitzer is reducing its carbon footprint.

The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors exhibit truly reflects the Oregon lifestyle. Accessorized vehicles with gear from ReRack, Yakima and Thule will be featured, and Aerodrop Teardrop Trailers will also be on display. Enter to win a Yakima cargo box stocked with outdoor gear from ReRack and US Outdoor, and a weekend use of a Teardrop trailer.

PDX Rides

The PIAS is home to all type of vehicles, including customs. Some of the best that the Portland area has to offer will be on display in a variety of categories such as Off Road, Tuner, Hot Rod, Muscle, Euro, Retro, Modified and fully custom one-of-a-kinds. A highlight is sure to be a new, $500,000 Ford GT Supercar. Enthusiasts can vote for their favorite among these privately-owned vehicles on the PIAS Facebook page. The PDX Rides feature is presented by Car Buff and Cars and Coffee.

Family Day

Sunday, Feb. 23rd is family day at the PIAS. Kids 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult admission. In addition to other activities, Family Day will feature a number of local sports teams’ mascots from the Winter Hawks, the Hillsboro Hops, the Oregon Ducks and the Thorns. Mascots will appear in the Toyota Exhibit.

Kids Zone

Kids will be in the zone in the Kids Zone, featuring balloon artists, an inflatable slide and special kid snacks for purchase. The Kids Zone will be located in the Holladay Lobby throughout the run of the show. Check the web site for details.

New Features

Portland Diamond Project

The PIAS continually works to bring new and unexpected features for your enjoyment, and this year is no exception. The show has partnered with the Portland Diamond Project to bring attention to a campaign with local roots that is gaining national attention. The Project objective is to bring Major League Baseball to Portland.

When you visit the baseball diamond located just outside the doors to the main floor, you’ll feel like you are at the ballpark. Grab a dog from Zenners Sausages, a beer from Breakside Brewery, commemorative t-shirts and hats from Portland Gear, and baseball gear from Baseballism. Then to head over and talk with the folks at Friends of Baseball and learn more how to help this program grow. Finish your visit by having your photo taken in the diamond or at the custom back wall.

Subaru Adopt A Pet

Since Portland is one of the most pet friendly cities in America, it’s only natural to make it part of the Auto Show. The PIAS has partnered with Subaru in support of its Adopt-A-Pet program, and, In turn, Subaru is partnering with the Oregon Humane Society for an adoption event as part of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative. On Friday and Saturday during show hours, attendees see and play with puppies and pick their favorite, which they can adopt after the show. The interactive exhibit is designed to demonstrate how the puppies react to different scenarios, allowing attendees to interact with them along the way.

The show closes on Sunday, Feb. 23, with the annual new car giveaway sponsored by the Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association. Auto show attendees can enter to win at the Pamplin Media Group exhibit in the MLK Lobby, and at 5 pm on Sunday, one of four finalists will win the vehicle – a new 2020 Honda CR-V AWD.
