The Portland International Auto Show (PIAS) and NW Honda Dealers have partnered with VR Motion to bring the first Virtual Reality test drive of the 2017 Honda Civic SI to the show, Jan. 26 – 29, at the Oregon Convention Center.
Attendees will be treated to a virtual 360-degree view of the car’s interior as they take it on a test drive, experiencing the feel of the vehicle without leaving the hall. As participants shift the gears and hear the rev of the engine, they can check out the view through the sunroof and side windows.
Among the 500+ cars and related feature activities at the PIAS, this unique test drive experience is likely to be a fan favorite
“Get ready to experience a test drive unlike any other,” says PIAS Director Jeff Fishback.
The virtual Ride & Drive consists of a tour through the famous Monument Valley on the Utah-Arizona border, thanks to the VR goggles that immerses the participant in the experience. Participants will be able to see the dashboard, rear-view mirrors, and the surrounding scene as they experience the Honda Civic SI on a lonely desert highway.
The simulator will respond to driver reactions in exactly the same way that a real Honda Civic would respond including acceleration, braking, and steering.
The virtual test drive is located in the Honda exhibit on the main show floor and will be in operation during show hours.
